Terms of Service
Last updated: 7 September 2026
These Terms govern your use of the Bad Object website and any purchases you make from us.
Bad Object is a trading name of Rob Mawdsley, a sole trader. In these Terms, “Bad Object”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Rob Mawdsley trading as Bad Object.
Contact address: 195 Wood Street, Suite RA01, London, E17 3NU, UK
Email: support@badobject.co.uk
Our store is hosted by Shopify, but any contract for products purchased from this store is between you and Bad Object.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
2. Using our website
You may use our website only for lawful purposes.
You must not:
- interfere with the security or operation of the website;
- introduce malicious code;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website or its systems;
- collect information from the website through unauthorised automated means;
- use the website to infringe another person’s rights; or
- use our content or products for unlawful or fraudulent purposes.
If you are under 18, you should use the website and place orders only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
3. Product information
We take reasonable care to ensure that product descriptions, photographs, sizing information and prices are accurate.
Colours may appear slightly different depending on your screen and device settings. Because our clothing is printed individually, minor variations in colour, scale or print placement may occur. These variations do not affect your statutory right to receive goods that are of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.
Please review the product description and size information before ordering.
We may change or discontinue products without notice, but this will not affect orders we have already accepted.
4. Made-to-order production
Most Bad Object products are printed or produced after an order is placed. This helps us avoid unnecessary stock and waste.
Made-to-order production may mean that dispatch is not immediate. Estimated production and delivery times will be shown on the website or during checkout where available.
Our standard products remain subject to applicable consumer cancellation rights even though they are printed to order. Different rules may apply if we offer a product that is personalised or made to your individual specifications. Any such restriction will be made clear before you order.
5. Placing an order
When you place an order, you are offering to buy the products shown in your basket.
You must provide accurate and complete contact, billing, payment and delivery information.
You will have an opportunity to review and correct your order before submitting it. Please check the product, colour, size, delivery address and total price carefully.
A contract is formed when we send you an order confirmation, subject to successful payment authorisation.
An automated acknowledgement does not prevent us from cancelling an order if:
- the product is unavailable;
- payment cannot be authorised;
- we cannot deliver to the address provided;
- we reasonably suspect fraud or misuse;
- an obvious pricing or product-information error has occurred; or
- accepting the order would be unlawful.
If we cancel an order after payment has been taken, we will refund the amount paid.
6. Prices and payment
Prices are shown in pounds sterling unless another currency is displayed.
Prices include any applicable UK taxes. Delivery charges and the final order total will be shown before you complete payment.
If delivery outside the UK is available, local import duties, taxes or customs charges may apply unless checkout states that they are included. These charges are imposed by the destination country and are normally the customer’s responsibility.
We may change prices, promotions or delivery charges at any time, but changes will not affect an order we have already accepted.
If a pricing error is obvious and could reasonably have been recognised as an error, we may reject or cancel the affected order and issue a full refund.
Payment is processed securely through the payment methods offered at checkout. We do not directly store complete payment-card details.
7. Delivery
Available delivery options, charges and estimated timescales are shown during checkout.
Production and delivery dates are estimates unless we expressly agree to a guaranteed date. We will deliver within the period agreed with you or, where no different period has been agreed, within the period required by law.
We are responsible for the goods until they are delivered to you, or to another person you have nominated to receive them.
You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address. If an order is returned because the address supplied was incorrect or incomplete, we may ask you to pay reasonable redelivery costs.
If delivery is materially delayed, contact support@badobject.co.uk. Your rights concerning late or failed delivery are not restricted by these terms.
8. Cancellations, returns and refunds
Your rights to cancel an online order, return products and obtain a refund are explained in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.
For eligible products, you normally have 14 days after receiving the goods to tell us that you wish to cancel. You then have a further 14 days to return them.
For change-of-mind returns, you are normally responsible for return postage. If goods are faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described, we will cover reasonable return costs where a return is required.
Please read our Refund Policy for the full process, conditions and statutory cancellation form.
9. Faulty or incorrect goods
We are legally responsible for supplying goods that are of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.
If an item is faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described, contact support@badobject.co.uk with your order number and details of the problem. We may ask for photographs to help us resolve the issue.
Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may be entitled to a refund, repair, replacement or price reduction.
Nothing in these terms or our Refund Policy limits your statutory rights concerning faulty goods.
10. Promotions and discount codes
Promotions and discount codes may be subject to additional conditions stated when they are offered.
Unless stated otherwise:
- codes cannot be exchanged for cash;
- only one code may be used per order;
- codes cannot be applied retrospectively;
- codes may have an expiry date; and
- codes may be restricted to particular products or customers.
We may withdraw or correct a promotion where there has been an obvious error, fraud or misuse. This will not affect statutory rights or orders already validly accepted.
11. Intellectual property
The Bad Object name, logos, symbols, artwork, product designs, photographs, graphics, text, audio, video and website content are owned by or licensed to Bad Object and are protected by intellectual-property law.
You may view the website and download or print order information for your personal, non-commercial use.
You must not reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, license or commercially exploit our content or designs without our prior written permission.
Purchasing a product does not transfer any intellectual-property rights in its artwork or design.
12. Reviews, photographs and submitted content
If you submit a review, photograph or other content to us, you confirm that:
- it is your own content or you have permission to submit it;
- it is accurate and not misleading;
- it does not infringe another person’s rights; and
- it is not unlawful, abusive or malicious.
You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide and royalty-free permission to display, reproduce and adapt that content for operating and promoting Bad Object.
You retain ownership of your content. We will not be required to use it and may remove it where reasonably necessary.
We will obtain any additional consent required before using identifiable customer photographs in paid advertising.
13. Third-party services and links
Our website may use or link to third-party services, including Shopify, payment providers, fulfilment providers, delivery companies and social-media platforms.
Those organisations may operate under their own terms and privacy notices.
We are not responsible for unrelated third-party websites that we do not own or control. This does not limit our responsibility for providing products purchased directly from Bad Object.
14. Privacy and cookies
We process personal information as described in our Privacy Policy.
Our use of cookies and similar technologies is explained through our cookie notice and privacy settings where applicable.
Shopify and other service providers may process information to operate the website, process payments, fulfil orders, prevent fraud and provide related services.
15. Our responsibility to you
We are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill.
We are not responsible for loss or damage that was not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was formed.
We supply products for personal and domestic use. If you use a product for commercial, business or resale purposes, we are not responsible for business losses such as loss of profit, revenue, contracts, opportunity or data.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- breach of your statutory consumer rights; or
- any other liability that cannot legally be excluded.
16. Events outside our reasonable control
We are not responsible for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as serious carrier disruption, industrial action, extreme weather, natural disasters, customs delays or failures affecting essential infrastructure.
If such an event significantly delays your order, we will contact you where reasonably possible and take steps to minimise the effect. Your statutory rights concerning delayed or undelivered goods remain unaffected.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes to our products, services, business practices or legal obligations.
The terms applying to an order will be those in force when that order is placed. Later changes will not retrospectively alter an existing purchase contract.
The current version will be published on this page with its last-updated date.
18. Severability
If any provision of these terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
Any unenforceable provision will be treated as modified only to the minimum extent needed to make it lawful and enforceable.
19. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you retain the benefit of any mandatory consumer protections and the right to bring proceedings in the courts available where you live.
Please contact us first if you have a concern. We will try to resolve complaints fairly and promptly.
